Well, here we are and what a year it has been for us. Morgan is now 14 and he went to his first Stake Dance this last week. Wow! It's hard to fathom us old enough to have a child that old. I made the comment to Brent that it's interesting to be on this end of the events. Brent texted a young man in his group to get a couple of young women to get Morgan to dance with them. We don't know if it worked but Morgan did come home and said that he danced with 3 young women, 1 of which wasn't even from our stake. I admire Morgan's ability to adapt to situations and put himself out there to make new friends. He is totally awesome!
Here he is all ready for the dance waiting for his ride which happened to be with the Stake Youung Women's President (she's in our ward) and a suburban full of youth from our stake. Awesome! So he had an instant group of friends to hang with at his first dance. He said he had a great time.
Christmas was really good for us. I really love having Brent home for most of the Christmas break. I am so gratiful to finally being out of the jobs that required us to work like mad dogs during this time of year rather on focusing on the reason for the holiday. We actually took the time to make treats this year. In years past it's generally been to our home and visiting teaching family but we were actually able to make treats for other including for our family out of state (we hope you all liked it!). It has also been fun playing games with everyone every day (much to Britt's dismay. Apparently, she not as excited about bored games as the rest of us.).
Oh yeah, here's a picture of our pickle finder this year!
Yup, it was Britt! And it was high in the tree. Way to go Britt! This is always a fun tradition and the kids are always excited to find the pickle. It almost has become the most anticipated activity of the morning.
We love you all and really hope for good things for the new year. May Heavenly Father continue to bless each of our families as we strive to live in this crazy, choatic world.
